Egresada del Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos; durante 20 años ha sido profesora de Cine documental -inicialmente en la UAM Xochimilco por 20 años – en los últimos 9 años del CUEC -UNAM, de donde fue directora por 4 años y que durante su gestión se transformó en Escuela Nacional de Artes Cinematográficas ENAC .
Actualmente es Profesora titular de la Licenciatura y Maestría en el área de Realización documental CUEC-FAD- UNAM.

En 42 años ha dirigido y producido una cuarentena de documentales y ficciones, que refleja una serie de asuntos de actualidad que está enfrentando la sociedad mexicana, dando especial importancia a la visión de género, el cambio del comportamiento sexual y la violación de los derechos humanos. .
Este trabajo lo realizó en la Compañía de Cine y video que fundó junto con Leopoldo Best, ¨Calacas y Palomas SA.CV”.

Se dio a conocer Internacional y Nacionalmente con el documental No les Pedimos un Viaje a la Luna sobre el sismo del 85 en la Ciudad de México, que la hizo acreedora del Ariel por Unanimidad de la Academia de Ciencias y Artes de México y de Diversos Premios Nacionales e Internacionales.

Ha tenido diversos premios internacionales el más reciente en festival ICARO 2014 –con Alaide Foppa, la sin ventura.
